Hello and welcome back!
On the 19th we had a smaller class and we discussed lighting briefly and looked at the school's light box. Today we will look at another light and I will do a brief demonstration using a bounce card and the fill light.
We will also talk about focusing with the cameras.
The class before that, you were asked to shoot using the manual setting, however many of your photos did not turned out as well as you had hoped (this is completely normal for your first time out with the cameras!) Today I'd like you to sign out a camera and for each student to take 3 of your best photos possible: this means....
- they are appropriately exposed
-the focus is on an appropriate subject
-they are not blurry
-they are well balanced (follow the rule of thirds or purposely do not...perhaps exact symmetry).
The topic for your photos are :
1. shadow
2. student life
3. a juxtaposition
I would like you to take 15 minutes taking these photos, come back and edit them in iphoto to the best of your ability and post them on your blog. Remember...submitting 3 photos means you would take more than 3!
Once you are done, research 3 local professional photographers in the area and provide links to their website on your blog (try to avoid photographers that exclusively shoot weddings and engagement shots). For each photographer, answer the following:
1. What is the photographer's main subject matter?
2. Do you like their work? Why or why not? Are they unique in any way?
